Fletcher Memorial Mission
- Fletcher Memorial Mission was established July, 1978 sponsored by First Baptist Church of Statesboro, GA.
- The original congregation of 60 met in the late Mrs. JD Fletcher’s home.
- The land for the church was later donated by the late JG Fletcher.
- The first sanctuary/education facility was built by the men of the church debt free.
- Rev. Don Patterson served as the first full time pastor from October, 1980 to August, 1985.
- Charter membership grew to 277 members under Rev. Patterson’s stewardship.
- Rev. Roger Cabe served with his family as first full time music minister.
Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church
- The mission was constituted a church formally in a special service in February, 1984.
- The educational building (currently children’s facility) was constructed for $60,000 in June, 1984.
- Rev. Steve Wilson served as pastor with his family from October, 1985 to April, 1988.
- Rev. Patterson is lead back to Fletcher in January, 1989.
- Church facilities have additions including a covered walkway and drive through areas.
- Church gains vision for expansion as long term building committee is appointed in March, 1991.
- Rev. Warren Rogers serves with his family as minister of music & youth.
- Sunday School room expansion takes place with 3 room new mobile unit in January, 1992.
Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church – Expansion
- Building Committee presents plans for new sanctuary in May, 1992.
- Baptist Women’s Organization gets started in June, 1992.
- Architects were hired to design new sanctuary in October, 1992.
- Sunday School continues to expand as new 4 room mobile is purchased in January, 1993.
- Church body celebrates debt payoff of education building in May, 1994.
- The church senses God’s leading to move forward with a new sanctuary in March, 1995.
- Ground breaking of the new 500 seat sanctuary begins August, 1995.
- The church opened its new sanctuary in September, 1996.
- Interim pastor, brother JD Turner serves, beginning April, 1999 to December, 1999.
Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church – Expansion Phase II
- Pastor Ron Andrew accepts God’s call to minister beginning December 13, 1999 through August 2011.
- Staff addition of bi-vocational Minister to Students, Kimberly Leddbetter, 2001.
- Full-time Minister of Students, Bryan Bulmer, serves from 2002 to 2010.
- Fletcher Memorial helps begin and house the Statesboro Hispanic Mission start, 2002 to present.
- Bi-vocational Ministers of Music, Jana Cram followed by Dr. Karla Qualls serve from 2002-2006.
- Forty Days of Purpose Campaign, 2003.
- Video Projection installed in Worship Center, 2003.
- Property addition — purchase of 2.5 acres of adjoining property, 2005.
- Church seeks to prioritize children’s ministry — Erin McDonald followed by Lynn Reaves serve as bi-vocational children’s ministers from 2005 – 2009.
- Full-time Minister of Music & Media Arts, Paul Reaves, serves from 2006 to 2009.
- Church body celebrates early pay off of sanctuary, 2006. (Built in 1996)
- “Imagine” Stewardship Campaign begins, Nov. 2006 – Nov. 2009 (1.3 Million Family Life Center Campaign, $1,000,000 raised).
- Purchase of addtional educational space — Imagine I & Imagine II Buildings (5400 sq. ft.), 2007.
- Staff addition of bi-vocational Minister of Evangelism, Justin Milliken, 2007.
- Mission start, Community Baptist Mission (African-American Church Start), 2008.
- Children’s Upward Soccer Ministry begins, 2008 (additional field, lights & building).
- 2010 – “Imagine” Team continues to cast a vision for a future Family Life Center — FLC offerings continue to be given on a weekly basis.
- 2010 – Addition of bi-vocational Minister of Music, Chad Mitchell and addition of bi-vocational Ministers of Youth, Shannon Mitchell & Austin Zeigler.

- Financial & prayer commitment made to International Mission Board for “Unreached People Groups,” 2011.

- Began Peru mission trips, 2012
