Sermon and Discussion Guide – 07.19.20 – “No Place Left”
Look Back/Review: Spend 10-15 Min Catching up on Life:
– What are some highs and lows from this past week?
– What is something God has shown or taught you?
– With whom did you attempt to have a gospel conversation this past week?
Look Up/New: Read Romans 15:14-23 and Discuss the Following Questions:
1. What do we learn about God in this passage?
2. What do we learn about man (us) in this passage?
3. What’s the main point of this passage?
4. Is there a memory verse I should consider learning from this passage?
5. Further study: Are there other examples and passages from Scripture that identify with this and solidify its teaching as truth?
Look Forward/Do: Commit to one another the following things:
– How will I apply what I learned this week in my own life?
– Who is someone that needs to hear these things I’ve learned? (Pray for them)
– Am I committed to living in truth-filled gospel community by being held accountable to these things?
Getting to No Place Left –
A Guide for US Church Involvement in Missions
Pray
– Download the “Pray for ASAP” app from the App Store/Play Store and pray each day for South Asia
– Set your alarm for 10:02 and pray each day for the harvest (Luke 10:2)
– Pray weekly in groups/families for an Unreached People Group (UPG)
– Fast and pray quarterly in groups/families for missionaries from your church
Give
– Give to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (imb.org/lmco) as 100% goes to overseas missions; Tithe/Give to your church – a portion goes to support missions.
– Give specifically to a project or family you know overseas
– Give to support hunger and disaster relief projects at www.gobgr.org
Go
– Organize an overseas trip to go and work alongside missionaries from your church
– Find the unreached people groups in your area and pray for them and engage them in gospel conversations; host gospel “push” events in your community
– Visit urban areas known to have unreached people groups and go prayer walking their area (Mosques, temples, etc. are great landmarks to look for on a map)
– Keep a “gospel sharing journal” to pray for and follow-up with those you are sharing with
Send
– Foster a “sending culture” in your church by encouraging those who feel called to go
– Pray for and encourage those who are going by listening to their stories, asking them questions about the work, and getting to know their people group(s)
– Unite with others in your community – other churches! – to talk about and pray together for missions and the unreached
